Hi there! I’m Claudia, founder and editor of The Renovate Avenue
Based in the beautiful city of Melbourne, Australia.
My love for renovation and interior style/design, began when I would constantly re-arrange my room on a regular basis, at a young age and fill it with old and new bits and pieces, and enjoyed buying vintage items from the op-shop and rejuvenating it to my style. I've always enjoyed creating beautiful spaces with what I had access to.
My husband and I have renovated properties from smaller to larger projects. We bought an old run-down 1960's weatherboard house, several years ago and ended up completing a major renovation and from this, we created a beautiful and sought after home, on a tight budget.
We are currently renovating a 60's brick house to sell.
With the help of my knowledgeable husband Pete, both of us have a real hands on DIY approach when it comes to renovating. Pete and I focus on achieving a ‘wow’ factor and are never afraid to take some risk, think bigger and outside the box.
Being a wife, a mother of two children, aged 17 and 20 as well as having two adored dogs, I constantly felt the economic strain and pressure that comes with having a family, a mortgage, car loans etc.. My husband and I, started a family in our early twenties and were tired of the continuous cycle to keep ahead of bills and mortgage payments, and we both had dreams of retiring early and travelling more.
After years of research, knowledge and experience, we are closer to achieving the dream, we travel more regularly and we are closer to retiring earlier! I decided to create The Renovate Avenue, because I wanted to share my knowledge and inspire others on how to climb the property market and take the renovation avenue, to build a financially stable future and to realise the dream of retiring earlier.

Renovating your property is CRUCIAL when it comes to growing your property portfolio… 95% of people want to purchase a property that is modern, functional and ready to move in.
I always like to think of the renovation process as styling a cake! Decorate your cake with sprinkles, lollies and other pretty things and not only will it look good, but it will also make you feel good – Claudia Brdar (Director and manager of The Renovate Avenue).
I often get approached by clients who ask me:
Where do I start?
What goes with what?
How do I style my home so it looks amazing?
How much should I budget for my renovation?
Will this renovation be enough to make a profit?
How do I get funding?
Ask me how I can help.
